120.00 g flour — cake
2.00 ml Superbake Instant Yeast
salt — pinch
15.00 ml oil
75.00 ml water — hot
STUFFING
25.00 ml oil
1.00 onion — grated
1.00 green pepper — finely chopped
1.00 garlic — cloves, crushed
250.00 g beef mince
30.00 ml tomato sauce
15.00 ml Worcestershire sauce
dried thyme — pinch
dried oregano — pinch
salt
freshly ground black pepper
15.00 ml cornflour — mixed with water

Method:

Combine the cake flour, instant yeast and salt. Mix the oil and water and add to the dry ingredients. Blend until a stiff dough is formed and knead until smooth and elastic. Cover and leave to rise in a warm place until doubled in bulk. Knead down and roll into uniform balls. Flatten slightly and roll round a stick so that the edges overlap. Braai over the coals until done. Turn frequently. Heat the oil in a pan. Sauté the onion, green pepper and garlic until soft. Add the mince a little at a time and fry until cooked. Add the tomato sauce and Worcestershire sauce. Season with thyme, origanum and with salt and pepper to taste. Stir in the cornflour. Heat until the mixture thickens slightly. Fill the bread stick with the stuffing.
Makes 10 stuffed breadsticks.
The stuffing can also be used as a pancake filling.
