75.00 g butter
3.00 eggs — large
1.00 orange — zest only
35.00 ml orange juice
350.00 ml flour — cake
10.00 ml Baking powder
5.00 ml cloves — ground
550.00 ml honey — clear
8.00 glacé orange — sliced

Method:

Beat the butter, eggs, orange rind and 20 ml orange juice together. Add the flour, baking powder and cloves and mix together well. Finally add 500 ml honey and beat well until smooth.
Spoon mixture into a greased and lined, deep 22 cm round cake tin and arrange the glacé; orange slices on top.
Bake in preheated 160 °C oven for one hour or until a skewer inserted in the centre of the cake comes out clean. Set aside to cool for five minutes, then remove from the tin and remove the paper.
Heat the remaining honey and orange juice together, brush over the top of the cake and leave to soak in.
