Ingredients (10)

8.00 chicken — pieces
10.00 ml oil
1.00 onion — chopped
15.00 ml garlic — cloves, crushed
250.00 ml stock — chicken
DUMPLINGS
500.00 ml flour — self-raising
15.00 ml sugar
salt — just a pinch
250.00 ml water
15.00 ml oil

Method:

Heat oil and brown the chicken. Remove and keep warm.
Sauté the onion and garlic until transparent, add chicken stock and simmer for 20 minutes.
Sift the dry ingredients together in a large bowl.
Slowly add the water and oil, mixing well to form a soft dough. Place dough in a greased bowl.
Place palm-sized balls of dough in a saucepan of boiling water. Cover tightly and steam for 25 to 30 minutes.
