Steamed green beans and broccoli with soya salad dressing

Ingredients (10)

400 g green beans — trimmed
400 g broccoli — cut into florets
salt and freshly ground black pepper — to taste
1 onion — small, chopped
3 garlic — cloves, sliced
100 g pecan nuts — chopped
SALAD DRESSING:
45 ml soy sauce
45 ml sherry
10 ml brown sugar
15 ml sesame oil

Method:

Steam the broccoli florets and beans until cooked but still crisp. Season well with salt and freshly ground black pepper and mix with the garlic and chopped onion. You can roast the mixture under a preheated grill or in a griddle pan on top of the stove, if you wish, but it is delicious as described here.

Mix the salad dressing ingredients and fold into the warm vegetables, sprinkle with the pecan nuts and serve immediately or marinate for a few hours.
