Steak with mushroom and mustard seed topping

Ingredients (9)

4.00 steak
freshly ground black pepper
TOPPING
olive oil — for frying
15.00 ml yellow mustard seeds
1.00 peppers — red or green, chunks
250.00 g black mushrooms — thickly sliced
5.00 ml stock powder — vegetable or chicken
100.00 ml white wine
salt and freshly ground black pepper — to taste

Method:

Wipe steaks with a damp cloth and season liberally with pepper. Set aside.
TOPPING: Heat oil, add mustard seeds and when they begin to pop, add peppers. Stir-fry for about 2 minutes.
Add mushrooms and stock powder and continue to stir-fry for 4 to 5 minutes. Add a little white wine if vegetables start to stick.
Meanwhile, fry or grill steaks until done to taste.
Season topping and spoon over steaks, or serve as an accompaniment.
