Ingredients (9)

65.00 ml margarine
1.00 onion — finely chopped
15.00 ml flour — cake
250.00 ml milk
100.00 ml cheddar cheese — grated
125.00 ml ham — chopped
300.00 g spinach — shredded
nutmeg — ground, pinch
salt and freshly ground black pepper — to taste

Method:

Melt the margarine and sauté the onion until soft. Stir in the cake flour and mix until all the lumps have been removed. Slowly stir in the milk and heat until the mixture comes to the boil and thickens. Stir in the cheese, ham and spinach and heat until warmed through. Season with nutmeg and salt and black pepper to taste. Serve with toast.
Serves 3-4.
