315.00 ml water — boiled
90.00 g oats
300.00 g brown sugar
125.00 g margarine
5.00 ml vanilla — essence
2.00 eggs — large
225.00 g flour — sifted
2.00 ml Baking powder
5.00 ml Bicarbonate of soda
5.00 ml cinnamon — ground
2.00 ml salt
2.00 ml nutmeg — ground
LAZY DAISY FROSTING
60.00 g margarine
60.00 ml evaporated milk
stir in — Grouping
100.00 g brown sugar
50.00 g coconut
50.00 g mixed nuts — chopped

Method:

Mix the boiling water and oats together ad set aside. Cream the sugar, margarine and vanilla essence together until light. Add the eggs and oat mixture and stir well. Add remaining ingredients. Pour into a greased 23 x 23 cm baking tin and bake in preheated oven for 25-30 minutes. FROSTING: Heat the margarine and evaporated milk until melted. Stir in remaining ingredients. Spread onto cake while hot. Place under a grill until brown and bubbly.
Baking time: 25-30 minutes
Oven temperature: 180 ºC
