Ingredients (10)

8.00 chicken — pieces
1.00 lemon — juice only
fresh chillies — 573
MARINADE
15.00 ml cumin — ground
15.00 ml coriander
15.00 ml curry powder
5.00 ml dried chilli — crushed or chilli powder
4.00 garlic — cloves, crushed
5.00 ml turmeric
15.00 ml fresh coriander — finely chopped

Method:

Wipe chicken with a damp cloth, squeeze lemon juice over and set aside.
MARINADE: Mix ingredients well. Slowly add oil to form a thick paste. Rub paste over chicken pieces and marinate for at least 15 minutes (30 minutes, if possible).
Meanwhile, preheat grill. Grill chicken, skin side up, until skin is dark brown and crisp, about 5 minutes.
Turn chicken, reduce heat or lower grill rack and continue to grill, turning once, for 12 to 20 minutes, depending on portions used.
Serve with Naan bread (available from selected supermarkets and delis) and a chopped salad flavoured with lots of fresh coriander.
