Ingredients (16)

250.00 g lamb mince — lean
1.00 onion — finely chopped
2.00 garlic — cloves, crushed
10.00 ml cumin — ground
2.00 ml ginger — ground
2.00 ml paprika
2.00 ml cinnamon — ground
0.00 cayenne pepper — pinch
0.00 saffron — threads, pinch
15.00 ml fresh parsley — chopped
15.00 ml fresh coriander — chopped
1.00 eggs — lightly beaten
6.00 phyllo pastry — sheets
60.00 ml butter — melted
0.00 honey — to drizzle
100.00 ml sesame seeds — toasted

Method:

Mix the lamb, onion, garlic, spices and herbs well.
Heat a large frying pan and add the mixture.
Cook until browned and the liquid has evaporated.Allow to cool and stir in the egg.
Brush each sheet of pastry with melted butterand cut into four strips.
Place a teaspoon of the mince filling onto each strip and fold to form a triangle.
Brush with melted butter and place on a greased baking tray. Repeat with the remaining ingredients.
Bake in a preheated 200 °C oven for 20 minutes or until golden. Serve drizzled with honey and sprinkled with sesame seeds.
