Ingredients (18)

60.00 ml butter
750.00 g shrimp — peeled
1.00 onion — chopped
2.00 celery stalks — chopped
1.00 green pepper — chopped
1.00 garlic — cloves, crushed
60.00 ml flour
375.00 ml stock — chicken
5.00 ml fresh thyme — chopped
2.00 ml fresh basil — chopped
2.00 bay leaves
205.00 g tomato paste
5.00 ml brown sugar
5.00 ml paprika
2.00 lemon — thinly sliced
1.00 spring onions — chopped
125.00 ml fresh parsley — chopped
rice — cooked

Method:

1. Melt butter and sauté shrimps for 2 to 3 minutes, then remove from pan.
2. Add onion, celery, green pepper and garlic. Sauté until transparent.
3. Add flour to pan and stir over medium heat until lightly browned.
4. Add stock, thyme, basil, bay leaves, tomato purée, brown sugar, paprika and lemon slices. Simmer for 15 minutes.
5. Add spring onion, parsley and shrimps during the last 5 minutes of cooking. Serve with rice.
