Ingredients (9)

PASTRY
350.00 ml flour — cake
2.00 ml salt
10.00 ml Baking powder
75.00 g butter — or margerine
40.00 ml water
FILLING
3.00 eggs — hard-boiled
75.00 g ham — and bacon, minced
white sauce
10.00 ml fresh parsley — chopped
Glaze
1.00 eggs — lightly beaten

Method:

Preheat oven to 200 ºC. Sift flour, salt and baking powder into a bowl. Rub in the butter finely and blend into a firm dough with cold water. Chop hard-boiled eggs, mix with ham or bacon, white sauce and chopped parsley. Roll dough out to an oblong shape, 5 mm thick and spread with egg mixture. Roll up lengthways as you would for a Swiss roll and place on a lightly greased baking sheet. Brush with beaten egg to glaze. Bake for 25 – 30 minutes and serve with tomato sauce.
