Savoury bread tart

    slices white bread, lightly spread with margarine

    dry white wine

    chicken stock

    Worcestershire sauce

    grated Cheddar cheese

    ripe tomato, diced

Preheat the oven to 160 ºC (325 ºF). Spray a 22 x 20 x 5 cm ovenproof dish with non-stick spray. Remove the bread crusts and cut each slice into two triangles. Mix the wine and stock in a saucepan and simmer for 5 minutes. Cool. Beat the eggs, mustard powder and Worcestershiresauce together and season with salt and pepper. Arrange the bread triangles in the oven dish and sprinkle half the cheese in between. Add the cooled stock to the egg mixture and beat well. Pour over the bread triangles. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese and season lightly with salt, pepper and paprika. Leave for 15 minutes before baking for 30 minutes or until set. Mix all the salsa ingredients and season to taste. Chill until needed. Serve the bread tart hot with the tomato salsa. Serves 4.
