Sausage and bread salad

  • 2
    spicy sausages, such as Russians, sliced
  • 1
    red pepper, seeded and diced
  • 1
    loaf white bread, crusts removed
  • olive oil
  • 2
    stalks celery, chopped (optional)
  • 1
    cucumber, diced
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 75
    olive or sunflower oil
  • 50
    grape vinegar
  • 4
    mustard powder
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • sugar to taste


Arrange the sliced sausages, diced red pepper and bread, cut into 1,5 cm cubes on a baking sheet brushed with a little olive oil. Drizzle with olive oil and grill until golden brown. Stir occasionally to prevent burning. Cool slightly and mix with the remaining salad ingredients. Blend the salad dressing ingredients and pour over the salad just before serving or serve separately with the salad.
