Ingredients (8)

125 g dark chocolate
125 g butter
eggs
castor sugar
flour
Baking powder
walnuts — coarsely chopped
currants

Method:

Melt the chocolate and butter in a pot over very low heat. Stir until smooth. Beat the eggs and sugar in a bowl until pale and thick. Fold in the chocolate mixture. combine the flour and baking powder. Sift this into the mixture. Add the nuts and currants and mix well. Line a square 20 cm baking tin with baking paper. Pour in the mixture and bake at 180ºC for 30 minutes. Prick with a skewer to test whether the cake is set. Allow to cool. Cut into squares. Don’t worry if they do not but perfectly. They may look like a battered SABE gemors, but they will still taste delicious!
