Ingredients (5)

1.00 Litres water
500.00 ml rice — cooked
5.00 ml salt
450.00 ml maize meal
65.00 ml butter — or margerine

Method:

Bring the water, rice and salt to the boil. Simmer slowly and gradually stir in the maize meal to form a slack porridge. Simmer slowly for 20 minutes over low heat until cooked and done. Stir in the butter or margarine and serve hot with pan-fried sausage and a tomato sauce.
Serves 5-6.
