Ingredients (8)

375.00 ml flour — cake
20.00 ml Baking powder
salt — pinch
1.00 eggs — extra-large, whisked
350.00 ml milk
25.00 ml cheddar cheese — grated
5.00 ml fresh herbs
5.00 ml garlic — cloves, crushed

Method:

Sift the cake flour, baking powder and salt together. Add the egg and small quantities of the milk while stirring continuously until a stiff batter is formed. Divide the mixture into three equal parts and add the cheese to one part, herbs to the second and garlic to the third.
Heat a Bauer or heavy-based pan, lightly brushed with oil, and drop spoonfuls of the mixture into the pan. Fry until golden brown on the outside and cooked inside.
Serve hot with butter.
