Ingredients (14)

20.00 ml oil
1.00 onion — halved and sliced
5.00 ml garlic — cloves, crushed
125.00 g bacon — chopped
300.00 g corned beef — shredded
1.00 potato — cooked, mashed
5.00 ml freshly ground black pepper — to taste
2.00 ml garam masala
Pastry: self-raising flour
1.00 pinch salt
2.00 ml Baking powder
1.00 eggs — whisked
30.00 ml oil
125.00 ml milk
100.00 ml cheddar cheese — grated

Method:

Preheat the oven to 180 °C and grease
a shallow ovenproof dish.

Filling

Heat the oil and sauté the onion,
garlic and bacon until the onion is translucent. Add the corned beef and mashed
potato and season with pepper and
garam masala.


Pastry

Combine the fl our, salt, baking
powder, egg and oil with just enough
milk to form a soft pastry. Spread half the
pastry over the bottom of the prepared
dish. Spoon the filling on top of the pastry,
spreading it evenly, and spoon the remaining pastry on top. Sprinkle with the
cheese and bake for about 30 minutes
or until golden brown.
