Ingredients (6)

1.00 kg flour — cake
20.00 ml Baking powder
10.00 ml salt
300.00 g brown sugar
400.00 g white sugar
700.00 g butter

Method:

Sift the cake flour, baking powder and salt together in a large mixing bowl. Add the brown and white sugar and mix well.
Grate the butter and rub it in with your fingertips until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Divide the mixture into three and spoon into plastic bags. Close tightly and place into an airtight container. Store in a cool, dry place or freeze.
To bake a batch of biscuits, preheat the oven to 180 ºC (350 ºF). Spray a baking sheet with non-stick spray.
Blend the prepared mixture with a little milk to form a stiff dough. Roll the dough out on a floured surface until about 5 mm thick. Cut out shapes, place on the baking sheet and bake for about 10 minutes or until golden. Cool slightly on the baking sheets before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Store the biscuits in airtight containers.
The entire mixture makes about 200 biscuits.
