Potato spirals

  • 1
    medium-large potato, peeled
  • oil for deep-frying
  • salt


Cut the potato into an oblong cylindrical shape. Spray a sosatie skewer with non-stick spray and carefully twist through the centre of the potato. Using a small sharp knife, start cutting at the one end of the potato. Keep the cutting edge of the knife against the sosatie skewer and carefully cut in a spiral round the sosatie skewer. (Turn the potato around as you go). Carefully remove the sosatie skewer and rinse the potato thoroughly. Pat it dry and fry in the hot oil until golden brown. Drain and sprinkle with a little salt. Serve immediately. Serves 1.
