Ingredients (9)

chops
1.00 pork chops
2.00 garlic — cloves, crushed
salt and freshly ground black pepper
SAUCE
1.00 avocado — mashed
1.00 onion — small, very finely chopped
20.00 ml lemon juice
125.00 ml yoghurt — plain
10.00 ml lemon — zest only

Method:

Turn on the oven grill if preparing the chops in the oven. Score the fatty edges of the chops to prevent the meat from curling up while cooking.
Sprinkle some crushed garlic over each chop and season to taste with salt and black pepper. Place the chops about 10-20 cm below the grill, depending on the thickness of the chops – the thinner the chops, the closer they should be to the grill. Grill until browned on one side, turn and grill the other side.
If cooking in a pan, heat the pan (preferably a griddle pan) until very hot. Pan-fry 2 chops at a time over medium heat until browned on both sides. Do not cover the pan.
Blend all the ingredients for the sauce and serve cold with the hot meat. Sauce serves 4-6.
