Pork chops Milano

    pork chops
  • salt and pepper
  • oil for frying

    medium onions, sliced into rings
  • 1
    green pepper, seeded and cut into strips
  • 1
    green apple, peeled and sliced
  • 1
    lemon, juice
  • 400
    tomato soup

    bay leaf


Preheat the oven to 180 ºC (350 ºF). Make slits in the fatty edges of the chops and season lightly with salt and pepper. Heat a little oil in a frying pan and fry the chops lightly. Drain the chops on kitchen towelling. Pour some of the oil off and fry the onions and green pepper until slightly browned. Transfer to a greased ovenproof dish. Arrange the chops on top. Place an apple slice alongside. Mix the lemon juice, tomato soup and water and pour over the chops. Place a bay leaf on top and cover. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until the chops are tender.
