Ingredients (13)

15 ml sunflower oil
4-6 pork — chops
10 ml sesame oil — or sunflower oil
1 spring onions — sliced
2 cloves garlic — cloves, crushed
2 ml Chinese five-spice powder
2 ml sichuan pepper
125 ml oyster sauce
30 ml sherry — dry
1 tenderstem broccoli — sliced
1 pepper — red or yellow, sliced
noodles — Chinese, to serve
sesame seeds — toasted

Method:

Heat the sunflower oil and fry the pork chops over a high heat until browned. Remove the chops from the pan and set aside.

Add the sesame oil to the pan and add the spring onions, garlic, five-spice powder and Sichuan pepper and stir-fry for a minute. Add the oyster sauce, sherry, broccoli, sweet pepper and 30 to 50ml water and stir-fry and simmer for five minutes, until the broccoli is tender.

Add the pork chops to the pan and heat through. Serve on a bed of cooked noodles. To garnish, sprinkle with the toasted sesame seeds.
