Ingredients (4)

1.00 Litres water
5.00 ml salt
250.00 g maize meal — polenta
50.00 g butter

Method:

Bring the water to the boil in a 5 litre pot.
Add the salt, then pour in the polenta in a steady stream. Cook over a very low heat, stirring constantly, until it pulls away from the sides of the pot (about 8 minutes). Add the butter.
Remove from the heat and beat until the polenta holds its shape.
Season to taste.
