Ingredients (11)

45.00 ml oil
1.00 onion — chopped
1.00 garlic — cloves, crushed
15.00 ml fresh ginger — crushed
5.00 ml turmeric
1.00 yellow pepper — or red pepper, chopped
3.00 tomatoes — peeled and chopped
sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
410.00 g beans in tomato sauce
125.00 ml stock — chicken
500.00 ml maize meal — cooked

Method:

Heat oil and sauté onion, garlic, ginger and turmeric until soft.
Add yellow pepper and tomatoes. Cook for 2 minutes, then add seasoning, beans and stock. Cook until sauce is rich and thick.
Using a large fork, gently stir in phuthu. Heat through to combine flavours.
Perfect for a braai or served as a side dish.
