Pesto and peppadew savoury slice

    quantity cheese shortcrust pastry
  • 45
    basil pesto
  • 10
    peppadews, sliced
  • 50
    grated Parmesan cheese


40‑50 minutes
Divide dough in half and put one half into the freezer. Roll out the other half to fit a greased rectangular baking tin. Prick the base with a fork. Spread pesto evenly over the dough. Sprinkle peppadews over pesto and chill for 10 minutes. Remove pastry from freezer and grate, using a coarse grater. Mix with Parmesan cheese and sprinkle evenly over pesto and peppadews. Bake in preheated 160 °C oven for 40 to 50 minutes until golden brown. Cut into rectangles and serve as a savoury snack.
