Peanut butter squares

  • 200
    golden syrup
  • 100
  • 270
    crunchy peanut butter
  • 100
    puffed rice


Spread a 24 x 40 cm baking sheet well with the margarine. Slowly heat the golden syrup and sugar in a saucepan, stirring continuously until the sugar is completely dissolved. Bring the mixture to the boil, immediately reduce the heat and add the peanut butter. Stir until well blended. Remove from the heat and add the puffed rice. Mix well until all the puffed rice is coated with the syrup mixture. Press the mixture into the prepared baking sheet and cut into squares once completely cool. Store in airtight containers. Makes 80-90 squares.
