Oxtail with peaches

    oxtail, cut into joints
  • 1
    dried peaches
  • 2
    onions, sliced
  • 1
    soy sauce
  • 3
    shakes gravy powder
  • 2
    bay leaves
  • 1
    shake peppercorns
  • 2
    self-raising flour
  • 1

Get the oxtail into a hot pot and keep stirring for about 20 minutes.

Reduce the heat and add the peaches and onions.

Mix the soy sauce and gravy powder and add this to the meat along with the bay leaves and peppercorns.

Simmer for 21/2 hours, or until the meat is tender.

If necessary, add some water from time to time.

Make a little dough by stirring some water into the flour.

Spoon the dough into the pot, which will be very saucy by now.

Add the Marmite.

Close the lid tightly and take a peek after 30 minutes.

The idea is for the dumplings to have risen nicely and be cooked through.
