Ingredients (11)

375.00 ml milk — fat-free
85.00 ml sugar
5.00 ml orange — zest only
3.00 ml lemon — zest only
5.00 ml vanilla — essence
1.00 ml salt
4.00 eggs — just the yolks
sauce: — strawberry
500.00 ml strawberries — hulled, puréed
15.00 ml castor sugar
10.00 ml cornflour

Method:

CUSTARD
Prepare the electric steamer as indicated in the instruction booklet and fill with cold water.
Spray four 8 cm ramekins with non-stick spray. Beat all the ingredients together and pour into the ramekins.
Cover each with aluminium foil. Place the ramekins in the steamer bowl, cover and steam for 10 to 15 minutes or until set. Remove from the steamer and cool completely.
Serve with fresh strawberry sauce.
STRAWBERRY SAUCE
Pour the strawberry purée into a small saucepan and add the castor sugar.
Add a little water to the cornflour and mix to a paste. Add to the strawberries and heat slowly. Simmer gently until the sauce thickens slightly and the cornflour is cooked. Remove from the heat and cool.
Serve cold with the orange-flavoured custard and fresh strawberries.
