Onion Tart

  • 2
    large onions
  • oil
  • 2
    extra large eggs
  • 250
  • 100
    Cheddar cheese
  • 5
  • pepper to taste


30-35 minutes
Preheat oven to 180 ºC (350 ºF).
Grease an ovenproof dish. Pour boiling water over onions and drain well.
Sauté onions in oil until soft and place in the ovenproof dish. Whisk the egg yolks and milk.
Add cheese and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form and fold into the cheese mixture.
Pour the mixture over the onions, mix lightly and bake for approximately 30 to 35 minutes or until set.
Serve immediately.
