Ingredients (12)

2.00 Litres oats
250.00 ml sunflower oil
250.00 ml sesame seeds
250.00 ml almonds — chopped
250.00 ml coconut
250.00 ml digestive bran
2.00 ml salt
250.00 ml oil
250.00 ml water — hot
200.00 ml honey
5.00 ml vanilla — essence
250.00 ml raisins — seedless

Method:

Preheat the oven to 140 °C.
Mix the dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
Mix the oil, water, honey and vanilla essence and add to he dry ingredients.
Mix well and spoon onto two baking sheets, spreading evenly. Bake for about 1 1/2 hours until pale brown. (Stir occasionally and check frequently that the mixture doesn’t burn.)
Allow to cool completely, turn into a mixing bowl and add the raisins. Mix and store in an airtight container.
Serve with yoghurt and stewed fruit or fresh fruit salad.
