Ingredients (17)

PATTIES:
1 kg beef mince
3 bread — sliced white, processed into crumbs
1 onion — finely chopped
2 eggs
180 ml tomato sauce
180 ml chutney
60 ml Worcestershire sauce
salt and freshly ground black pepper — to taste
30 ml paprika
15 ml dried mixed herbs
pita breads — mini
butter
chutney
Caramelized onions:
60 ml butter
15 ml oil
45 ml brown sugar
3 - 4 onions — large, peeled and sliced

Method:

Form the mince
mixture in small patties – 20 to24 patties.
Bake in the oven for 15 to
20 minutes.
Spread mini pita breads with butter and a little bit of
chutney.
Top with a beef patty and some caramelized onions.
Onions:
Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat, add the oil and sugar and simmer for 3 minutes.

Add the onion rings and simmer slowly, until caramelized, for 40
minutes.
