Ingredients (14)

500.00 g beef mince
1.00 garlic — cloves, crushed
1.00 onion — finely chopped
250.00 ml stock — beef
30.00 ml tomato sauce
15.00 ml Worcestershire sauce
dried thyme
2.00 ml cumin — ground
salt and freshly ground black pepper — to taste
30.00 ml flour — cake
250.00 g pasta — shells
2.00 eggs — whisked
450.00 ml yoghurt — plain
2.00 tomatoes

Method:

Preheat the oven to 200 ºC (400 ºF). Spray an ovenproof dish with non-stick spray.
Fry the mince until done. Add garlic and onion and sauté till glossy. Reduce the heat and add the stock and all the seasonings.
Simmer for another few minutes then thicken the sauce with a paste made by blending cake flour and water if necessary. Turn into the oven dish.
Cook the pasta in boiling salted water until soft and drain well. Spoon on top of the mince. Mix the eggs and yoghurt and pour over the pie. Arrange the tomato slices on top and bake for 40 minutes or until the mixture has set.
Serve with a salad.
Serves 4-6.
