Mediterranean Fish Pie

  • 600
    Cape whiting steaks or Hake fillets

    sliced onoin
  • 1
    red pepper,cored, seeded and sliced
  • 1
    green pepper
  • 2
    cloves garlic
  • 410
    chopped tomatoes
  • 1
    cayenne pepper
  • 125
    white wine
  • 125
    water optional
  • 4
    bay leaves



1. Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees celcius.
2. Cut fish into large chunks. Heat oil and fry fish lightly on both sides. Remove and keep warm.
3. Add onions, peppers and garlic to pan, sauté for about 5 minutes until soft. Add tomatoes, cayenne pepper and wine, bring to the boil and simmer for five minutes.

4. Layer fish and vegetables in a casserole dish; add bay leaves and easoning.
5. Cover with pastry, brush pastry with egg wash and bake in oven for 30-45 minutes.
6. Serve hot with a salad.
