Ingredients (11)

500.00 g beef mince — lean
1.00 onion — finely chopped
2.00 eggs — large
60.00 ml breadcrumbs — fresh
20.00 ml fresh parsley — finely chopped
3.00 ml nutmeg — ground
0.00 sunflower oil — for frying
Tomato sauce
15.00 ml sunflower oil
1.00 onion — finely chopped
0.00 tomatoes — tin, peeled
0.00 tomato — paste, tin

Method:

To make the meatballs, mix together all the ingredients except the oil.

Season to taste and shape into balls.

Heat a little sunflower oil in a frying pan and fry the meatballs until evenly browned.

Remove from the pan and set aside.

To make the sauce, heat the oil in a saucepan.

Add the onion and sauté until soft.

Add the remaining ingredients and stir well.

Bring to the boil, stirring constantly.

Add the meatballs to the sauce an bring to the boil.

Reduce the heat and simmer, uncovered, for about one hour.

Serve with pasta.
