Marinated mussel and avocado salad

  • 420
    smoked mussels
  • 2
    ripe tomatoes, skinned and diced
  • 2
    chives, finely chopped
  • 1
    ripe avocado pear, diced
  • juice of a lemon
  • 15
    or more chilli and garlic sauce
  • 5
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper


Drain and quarter the mussels. Lightly mix all the ingredients in a glass bowl, cover and marinate for 1 hour in the fridge. Serve the salad with small slices of fresh bread or tortilla chips (Fritos) as a snack or starter. Makes 6-8 small portions.
