Luxury garlic bread

  • 1
    French loaf
  • 2
    medium-sized onions, finely chopped
  • 6
    cloves garlic, crushed
  • red pepper, diced
  • yellow pepper, diced
  • 250
    bacon, cut into pieces
  • 10
    olive oil
  • 4
    rounds feta cheese, diced
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper


Slice the bread as you would for ordinary garlic bread, not cutting the slices all the way through. Fry the onion, garlic and peppers in heated oil until tender. Add the bacon and fry until done. Add the feta cheese and mix. Season. Spoon the filling between the slices of bread and wrap the loaf in aluminium foil. Heat over the coals or in a medium-hot oven and serve hot. Makes 1 loaf. Serves 4.
