Microwave chocolate crunch bars

    salted butter, room temperature
  • 250
    ml
    cornflakes or any other cereal
  • 250
    ml
    desiccated coconut
  • 200
    ml
    castor sugar
  • 250
    ml
    self-raising flour
  • 30
    ml
    cocoa powder
  • TOPPING
  • 200
    g
    dark or milk chocolate, chopped (optional)
 

Method

 

1. Bars: Put the butter in a 20cm x 20cm square mi­crowave dish. Heat in the microwave on full power until melted.

2. Add the cornflakes, co­conut, castor sugar, flour and cocoa powder and mix until combined.

3. Press the mixture firmly into the base of the dish. Heat in the microwave on full power for 5 minutes. 

4. Topping: Remove the dish from the microwave and while still warm sprinkle the chopped chocolate over. As soon as the chocolate has melted, spread it evenly. Cut into bars and serve.
