French toast bowls served with banana slices and s

Ingredients

  • 12 slices white bread, crusts removed
  • 12 bacon rashers
  • 6 eggs
  • 500
    ml
    milk
  • 45-60
    ml
    sugar
  • 5
    ml
    cinnamon
  • salt and pepper
  • banana slices
  • maple syrup
 

Method

20-30 min
 

Preheat the oven to 180°C.

Grease six hollows of a deep muffin pan well with nonstick spray.

1 Line each muffin hollow with a slice of bread.

2 Fry half the bacon and chop. Sprinkle over the bread in each hollow. Top with another bread slice.

3 Roll up the rest of the bacon rashers and put on top of the bread.

4 Whisk the eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, salt and pepper and pour into the muffin hollows. Allow to stand for 30 minutes then bake for 20-30 minutes or until the egg mixture is set.

5 TO SERVE

Serve with the banana slices and syrup.
