Banana puff puff

    cake wheat four
  • 250
    ml
    lukewarm water

    salt
  • 10

    instant dry yeast
  • 5
    ml
    sugar
  • 2
    large bananas mashed about one & quarter cup
  • 5
    ml
    ground nutmeg
  • oil for deep-frying
 

Method

 

In a large bowl, add flour, salt, sugar and yeast.

Make a hole in the middle and add lukewarm water, mix together well, add massed bananas and nutmeg.

Mix well with a metal spoon until bananas have been full incorporated.

Set the mixture in a warm area and let it rise until double in size, about 1 to 2 hours.

Heat oil in a large, saucepan to medium heat.

The dough is going to be sticky, use a spoon to spoon it up the batter and another spoon or spatula to drop it in the oil, in the shape of a ball.

Do not overcrowd the pan.

Fry for a few minutes until the bottom side is golden brown.

Turn the ball over and fry for a few more minutes until the other side is golden brown.

Serve warm or cold sprinkled with desiccated coconut.
