Lemon beer

    brewer's yeast (not instant yeast)
  • 10
    cream of tartar
  • 15
    lemons, juice


Dissolve the sugar in 2 litres boiling water, then add 2 litres cold water.
Cool until lukewarm before sprinkling the yeast on top.
Stir in the cream of tartar and lemon juice, cover and leave in a warm place for 24 hours.
Pour into sterilised bottles with tight-fitting screw tops. Chill until just before serving.
Makes about 5 litres of beer.
