Instant soufflé

    packet instant mashed potato
  • 250
    onion, chopped and fried
  • 250
    bacon, diced and fried
  • 250
    Cheddar cheese, diced
  • 5
    mustard powder or garlic salt
  • salt and pepper to taste

    eggs, separated


1. Preheat oven to 180 ºC. 2. Make instant mashed potato as directed, be sure to keep it stiff. 3. Add onion, bacon, cheese, mustard powder or garlic salt, salt and pepper. 4. Add beaten egg yolks. 5. Beat egg whites to soft point stage and fold into potato mixture. 6. Pour into soufflé dish and place in oven pan half-filled with warm water (bain-marie). Bake for about 45 minutes. 7. Serve immediately with tomato salad or a green salad.
