Ingredients (7)

350.00 g flour — cake
5.00 ml Bicarbonate of soda
10.00 ml cinnamon — ground
100.00 g butter
175.00 g castor sugar
20.00 ml golden syrup
1.00 eggs — large

Method:

Preheat oven to 180 ºC.
Mix flour, bicarbonate of soda and cinnamon in a large bowl. Rub in butter until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs, then mix in sugar.
Beat syrup and egg together, add to remaining ingredients and mix to a stiff dough.
Roll out and press out shapes with a star-shaped cookie cutter.
Place on a greased baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool.
Ice and decorate as desired.
