Ingredients (8)

800.00 g beetroot
1.00 cinnamon — stick
250.00 ml orange juice — fresh
30.00 ml lemon juice — fresh
5.00 ml lemon — zest only
45.00 ml brown sugar — soft
salt — to taste
10.00 ml cornflour — blended with cold water

Method:

Boil the beetroot in a little water until soft. Drain well and remove the skins. Set aside.
Mix the remaining ingredients, except the cornflour and bring to the boil. Simmer for 5 minutes, add the cornflour and simmer until the sauce thickens.
Pour over the beetroot and heat once more.
Serve hot.
