CRUST
750.00 ml flour — white bread
1.00 ml salt
10.00 ml Superbake Instant Yeast
65.00 ml margarine
50.00 ml honey
190.00 ml milk
TOPPING
3.00 apples — cooking, green, peeled and sliced
100.00 ml almonds — chopped
10.00 ml cinnamon — ground
50.00 ml honey
50.00 ml butter — or margerine

Method:

Preheat the oven to 190 ºC (375 ºF). Spray a 38 x 29 cm oven roasting tin with non-stick spray. Combine the white bread flour, salt and instant yeast in a large mixing bowl. Heat the margarine, honey and milk until lukewarm and add to the dry ingredients. Mix to form a stiff, manageable dough and knead for about 10 minutes until the dough is smooth, elastic and no longer sticks to your hands. Cover with greased plastic and leave in a warm place to rise until doubled in volume. Roll out the dough and press into the prepared roosting tin. Arrange the apple slices on top and sprinkle with almonds and cinnamon. Leave
in a warm place to rise once more until doubled in volume. Melt the honey and butter and pour over the apples. Bake for 20-30 minutes or until done. Cool and cut into squares.
Makes about 24 large slices.
