Ingredients (10)

100.00 g oats — rolled
15.00 ml flour — cake
400.00 ml nestlé ideal evaporated milk
350.00 ml water
80.00 g sugar
1.00 eggs — extra-large, lightly beaten
salt — pinch
2.00 ml orange — zest only
410.00 g cherry pie filling — or blueberry pie filling
TOPPING
125.00 ml nestlé ideal evaporated milk — lite

Method:

1. Grind the oats in a liquidiser. Blend with flour and water to a smooth paste with a little of the water.
2. Bring the rest of the milk and the water to the boil and stir into the oats mixture and the sugar, stirring all the time. Return the mixture to the pan and cook over low heat for 5 minutes, stirring all the time.
3. Remove from the heat, and cool for 5 minutes. Stir the egg into the cooled oatmeal mixture. Add salt and orange rind.
4. Pour the mixture into a greased 1 litre dish and bake in preheated oven for 35-40 minutes.
5. Serve with blueberry pie filling and whipped lite evaporated milk.
