Portuguese chicken casserole

  • 8
    pieces of Tender and Tasty SPAR drumsticks
  • 30 ml (2 Tbsp)
    Portuguese chicken spice
  • 15 ml (1 Tbsp)
    smoked paprika
  • 10 ml (2 tsp)
    SPAR virgin olive oil
  • 1
    SPAR Freshline onion, diced
  • 15 ml (1 Tbsp)
    fresh garlic
  • 1
    packet SPAR chilli cheese grillers (cut into 2-cm pieces)
  • 2 x 410 g
    tins SPAR whole kernel sweetcorn


30–45 minutes

1 Preheat the oven to 180 °C.

2 Coat the chicken with the spices and fry in the olive oil until brown. Remove from the pan. 

3 Fry the onion and garlic till brown, then add the cheese griller pieces and the sweetcorn Simmer for 10 minutes. 

4 Pour into an ovenproof dish, add the chicken pieces and bake for 15–20 minutes.
