Homemade croutons

Never throw leftover bread away again with this simple and tasty crouton recipe.

Ingredients (5)

1 bread — loaf, leftover
2 Tbs fresh chillies — 573
1 Tbs salt
1 Tbs peppercorns — cracked
1 Tbs fresh oregano

Method:

Pre-heat oven at 160°C

Cut up bread into 3cm x 3cm cubes (or whatever you can manage)

Drizzle 2 tbsp of olive oil to the cut up bread and toss.

Add 1 tbsp of salt, 1 tbsp of pepper, and any dried herbs you prefer to the bread and toss.

Chop oregano (or any fresh herb) and sprinkle over the top.

Spread onto a pan and put into the oven at a moderate temperature  for 40-50 minutes tossing 1 or 2 times.

Add to salad, soup, or eat as a snack.
