Grilled sardines with lemon and spices

Ingredients (9)

4.00 cloves garlic — cloves, crushed
2.50 ml paprika
5.00 ml cumin — ground
15.00 ml lemon juice — fresh
15.00 ml fresh chillies — 573
5.00 ml salt and freshly ground black pepper — to taste
16.00 sardines — butterflied
1.00 lemon — cut into slices
1.00 onion — cut into rings

Method:

Oven temperature: 240°C
1. Mix the garlic, spices, lemon juice, olive oil
and seasoning. Rub this into the sardines.

2. Place the sardines, butterflied side up,
in a roasting tin. Place the lemon slices
and onion rings on top and oven roast for
8-10 minutes. The cooking time will be
determined by the size of the sardines.
Serve immediately.

Wine suggestion: Choose a light Chardonnay,
Blanc Fumé or a wooded blend.
