Ingredients (8)

350.00 g mixed dried fruit
500.00 g green apples — cored, peeled, finely chopped
400.00 g tomatoes — green, finely chopped
350.00 g onion — finely chopped
6.00 red chilli — deseeded and finely chopped
200.00 g sugar
1.00 ml salt
450.00 ml vinegar — white garpe

Method:

Finely chop the mixed dried fruit in a food processor. Place in a large saucepan along with remaining ingredients. Heat slowly while stirring continuously until all the sugar has dissolved. Bring to the boil and simmer slowly for about 1 hour or until the mixture has thickened and is no longer runny. Stir frequently to prevent the mixture from burning. Bottle the chutney while still hot.
Makes about 1,2 litres.
