Ingredients (10)

450.00 g onion — finely chopped
1.00 kg green pepper — seeded and diced
30.00 ml fresh chillies — 573
1.00 garlic — cloves, crushed
900.00 g tomatoes — peeled and finely chopped
250.00 g sultanas
5.00 ml ginger — ground
5.00 ml mixed spice — ground
550.00 ml sugar
500.00 ml vinegar — red wine

Method:

Place the onions, green peppers and olive oil in a saucepan, cover and simmer slowly for 15 minutes.
Add the remaining ingredients, stir until the sugar has dissolved and simmer for about 30 to 45 minutes or until the mixture is no longer watery.
Spoon into sterilised jars.
Makes about 1 litre.
